WE BEREAVED

I want to take a moment to pay a tribute to the late former first lady of Adamawa state and also my step mother who took her last breath Sunday 23rd July 2017. She was an amazing mother, a great leader, hardworking and very independent.

I still remember growing up how she made sure the saleh Michika house hold runs smooth and accordingly, I also remember how dad would say after him, she is the only one that can shoulder the affairs of the household effectively. She contributed a great deal especially in the days daddy was campaigning for governorship. She wasn't only his wife she was his biggest cheerleader.

To us all the kids, she gave us tough love with the intention to promote our wellbeing and to help us in the long run. she would not take any mischievous behavior, and i will personally say it helped me to always be in my best behavior. I remember how I hated the food cooked with red oil, and she would look me straight up and say "you will eat red oil its good for your eyes" that was the beggining of my love for red oil (palm oil). She was part of my childhood and contributed in shaping and molding the pressent me.

Indeed the saleh Michika house hold is going through a tough time. And as i lay in my bed sobbing still in shock, I pray that  the Almighty in his infinite mercy grant her eternal rest and may Janna be her final abode..."Iya" as we all fondly call her, On behalf of myself and all my siblings, I say thank you dear mother for being a huge part of our lives, we love you and we will definitely miss you. May your soul rest in perfect peace. (AMEEN)
