A TRIBUTE TO MY DEAR BELOVED FATHER
Saturday, 24 February 2018
MISSING HOME MEANS MISSING HIM
It only means one thing
missing home means missing him
I wake up every morning
Amidst all the chaos
And my busy schedules
Attending to the needs
of the offspring i begot
And a list of other things
To cater for He
I miss home
And missing home means missing him
And when i am hurt
Snugged up in tears
With no one to feel my pain
Or anyone to Understand.....
Miles and Miles away
Sitting in the yard
Looking up at the stars
He is wishing away
All the sadness that may come my way
I miss home
And missing home means missing him
The white painted walls with stripes of black
And scented flower surrounding
That sheltered me
I jumped and ran and played
He was never afar
Up on the balcony
He watched with delight
As i melted his heart
I miss home
And missing home means missing him
The sound of his footsteps
Oh so Monumental
As he walked towards the compound
Where i listened
And waited in excitement
For his executive entrance as i behaved myself
Out of respect for his presence
He sweetened my heart
And gave me the goosebumps
I miss home
And missing home means missing him
He is my protector, my Hero
My first love, my Favorite
He is my Father
And when i feel all alone
I miss home
And missing home means missing my dear beloved Father

WE BEREAVED
I want to take a moment to pay a tribute to the late former first lady of Adamawa state and also my step mother who took her last breath Sunday 23rd July 2017. She was an amazing mother, a great leader, hardworking and very independent.
I still remember growing up how she made sure the saleh Michika house hold runs smooth and accordingly, I also remember how dad would say after him, she is the only one that can shoulder the affairs of the household effectively. She contributed a great deal especially in the days daddy was campaigning for governorship. She wasn't only his wife she was his biggest cheerleader.
To us all the kids, she gave us tough love with the intention to promote our wellbeing and to help us in the long run. she would not take any mischievous behavior, and i will personally say it helped me to always be in my best behavior. I remember how I hated the food cooked with red oil, and she would look me straight up and say "you will eat red oil its good for your eyes" that was the beggining of my love for red oil (palm oil). She was part of my childhood and contributed in shaping and molding the pressent me.
Indeed the saleh Michika house hold is going through a tough time. And as i lay in my bed sobbing still in shock, I pray that the Almighty in his infinite mercy grant her eternal rest and may Janna be her final abode..."Iya" as we all fondly call her, On behalf of myself and all my siblings, I say thank you dear mother for being a huge part of our lives, we love you and we will definitely miss you. May your soul rest in perfect peace. (AMEEN)

Empathy for the poor
There Are people who have much more than they need to live while others have barely enough to survive.
What are we doing to help those who cannot afford the basic requirements of living? Those who are fighting each day to live. It breaks my heart to even think about what being poor means.
It basically means deprived, economically, politically and socially it means being at higher risk of diseases and lack access to healthcare and basic essential for living.
The poor did not design this life for themselves, they are human beings just like you and I, they only found themselves unfortunate and with a lending hand from the fortunate, directing our energies an efforts towards rebuilding them, they are sure to regain their self confidence and self esteem to work for themselves.
you will agree with me that not only Clothing, feeding and educating the poor makes his life a lot easier, but also providing him with an opportunity to work for his bread reduces bread theft and improves the society in the long run.
Let's give the poor attention, genuine acceptance and love. When we show compassion, using what we have and do what we can, it will go a long way in helping them loose their desperate behavior, that leads them to find what they need in a wrong way, such as engaging in crimes.
Then in return we will have a safe, secure and violent free society to live in. I believe that development can only blossom when the poor and destitute are relieved of their situation.
So tonight as you sit on the table with warm food within reach, remember there are children out there who hasn't eaten the whole day.
And as you lay in your king size Bed with your red velvet blanket drawn upon you for wormth and comfort, remember someone is out there in the cold with no roof over his head.
You are privileged and fortunate, but what are doing with it? You can make a difference do it now and make the world a better place for everyone to live in. We are human beings and we are here for all of us.
