My good old Father.

My good old father is always my pillar of strength when ever I need him. He's been there and he's still here for me anytime any day I call.

My good old father, his hard face changes to his softer site only for me. He is a tough man but I bring out his soft site.

My good old father, he brought me up so well, provided for me, protected me and taught me all I know.

My good old father, he inspires me to do me. He is my favourite human being and sometimes I feel like am exactly like him.

My good old father sits on the white plastic chair out in the front yard and watch me board the private bus to school.

My good old father provided me with my very own after school private Islamic classes right in the comfort of my home

I am really thank full for the way he raised me. He never took his eyes off me, he watched my every step and guided me through becoming the beautiful young woman that I am today.

My good old father, the first man i ever fell in love with. no one, just no one like My good old father.

My good old father, to me and my siblings "I am your unifying factor" he would always say.

Long live my good old father.

First love.

Here is what i know first love feels like. Hopefully you all relate to this.
First love is the one that you first truly have feelings for. One person you will never forget. Their love will leave an imprint on your heart which will be there forever.
That feelings you get when ever you see your first love, you feel weightless, and everyone else seems to disappear. You want to fall into their arms and kiss them. But you restrain yourself waiting for that perfect moment and you keep telling yourself, be patient he will be mine someday.

Young and naive, you see your first love for the very first time in slow mo. Yes slow motions happens not only in the movies. You also starts to float or melt when your first love walks in.
Your first love will be the hardest to get over, the one that can still make you smile even when you are having the worst day ever. And even when they are gone you'll still love them. The truth is your first love never leaves.

Yeaaaayyy it's Ramadan.

Ok so I didn't get the chance to write this earlier than now. But am glad am finally doing it.

Ramadan is the  9th month of the islamic calendar, and the month in which the Quran was revealed. Fasting during the month of Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam.

This is a time we all want to get a little closer to God Almighty. It's exciting having all the family members together on the Iftar table during Ramadan. I love how everyone get to talk on how the long day fasting went for them and we get to laugh and make fun of each other.

Ramadan doesn't just get me closer to my God, but also closer to my family and friends as we all get to share Ramadan greetings and lessons.

So I say to you all Muslims out there RAMADAN KAREEM. May we all be alife to see many more Ramadan to come. (Ameen).

Drop that zero and get you a hero.

Hello every one. Welcome to what I like to call "drop that zero and get you a hero"
Well it basically means that you should drop some certain habit that doesn't take you anywhere and adopt to something that moves you forward.

In my 30yrs of life I have realized that without hard work great goals cannot be achieved. Happiness, trust and hard work can only be build step by step. It does not happen over night you know.
And also in anything, success cannot just be handed in a plate in front of you, you have to work hard to earn it.

To my dearest modern Arewa married women, we all work hard everyday in making our spouses happy and we also sacrifice a lot for the happiness of our children. When ever our kids do well in school and behave well in public, we very well know that it is our hand work and it is very rewarding we even give ourselves the well done tap in the back.
Now that is an example of hard work.

The one thing every woman should try not to do is relying on your husbands or loved one all the time. They might not be there with you some day. You should learn to rely on yourselves.

I believe that God has created every woman with some special kind of abilities. You just need to look withing you and find what you are good at and then go ahead and do it. Just start where you are, use what have and do what you can.
But remember to do what makes you happy always.

When you listen to your intuition you will be surprised at how brilliant your inner wisdom is. And yes don't take life too seriously just laugh at yourself sometimes. I do that a lot. Lolz!

So Our "drop that zero and get you a hero" for today is "dnt rely on anyone, rely on yourself" and with hard work you can learn to rely on you.

Today was dan wake day.

My kids would not eat any traditional food like tuwo, kunun gyada, miyan Kuka and things like that. These are all traditional delicacies from arewa (northern Nigeria ), but give them dan wake and you become best buddies.

Dan wake is a delicacy originated from Niger but was adopted across Northern Nigeria and very popular among the Arewas (northerners). It is originally made from beans flour but I use wheat flour or jst normal white flour as I don't really like beans flour.

So today I did my dan wake not the normal way but my way. I simply jst fried lots of onions in vegetable oil and added my boneless roughly chopped left over fried chicken, some chilli, seasoning and  salt to taste. And then used it to garnish  my dan wake.

And hell yea my kids so loved it.
My oldest son that jst came back from school in the UK 2 days ago really needed some gargajiya (traditional taste) and I was like welcome home son! He finished a whole bowl. Lolz!

You can google dan wake for recipe.
Now I present to you my bowl of dan wake. Have a nice day.

Believe in yourself.

So as I lay on my bed to nap this morning, I started thinking of the things I've learned in life.

I have learned that sometimes when am angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I have learned that true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

There maybe days when you get up in the morning and things aren't the way you had hoped they would be.
That's when you will have to tell yourself that things will get better.

There were times when people tried to put me down and made me felt bad about myself. Saying I will never measure up to them or be like them.

But those where times when I reminded myself to trust my own judgements and opinions, to keep my life focused on believing in myself.

And today this is what I have to say to those people.

I know you see my potentials and you are scared I might give you a run for your money,  FYI, I never for one second wanted to be like you.
Think of all the people who live or ever lived on our planet since the very beginning of time. Nobody's finger prints are the same, no one has the same things going on in there minds, souls, spirit as are going on in mine. So my question for you is why would I want to be you when I was born to be me?

No body can speak my words, nobody can smile my smile and no one can bring the same unique impact of me to another person. It's natural that I am always going to do me and not You.

I will always believe in my self no matter what you throw at me.
